TBP electronics introduces DEK Horizon 03iX screen printers

TBPDEK has confirmed that tbp electronics has purchased three of its Horizon 03iX screen printing platforms to drive progressive manufacturing processes for high-end customers. As a leading supplier of electronics manufacturing services in the Benelux region, tbp electronics has adopted DEK mass imaging technologies to help deliver EMS solutions for key industries including medical, petrochemical, safety and test.

The Horizon 03iX platform has an established reputation for providing more choice and value for a future-proof productivity advantage. Offering a wide array of advanced features as standard, Horizon 03iX also enables customers to choose from an extensive range of retrofittable options to address future applications, production needs or technologies. Horizon 03iX enabled tbp to build its screen printers around its precise business demands. In addition to being impressed by the inherent flexibility of the Horizon 03iX, tbp based its platform selection process on a set of criteria which consisted of excellent print quality, the availability of a shared database for programming, a consistent level of accuracy, an ability to track supplier records and also a high quality of service delivered by the provider.

Ton Plooy, CEO of tbp electronics, explains: “DEK ticked all of these boxes and then some. The DEK Horizon 03iX was well presented and we were impressed with the ease of use, fast changeover times, repeatability and the reliability of the platforms’ performance. Partnertec, one of our most reliable distributors, are also DEK’s local distributor and therefore they could also provide us with a local service point for logistics and spare parts which is great benefit to us from a support aspect.”

Rick Goldsmith, European Product Manager for DEK, added, “We are pleased to be supplying such a prestigious manufacturer as tbp electronics with the Horizon 03iX, helping them to overcome the challenges they were encountering with their existing software and printing platforms. Working alongside our trusted distributor, Partnertec, we look forward to supporting TBP with our award-winning approach to service excellence into the future. Indeed, having presented Partnertec Managing Director, Maurits van der Laken, with our European Distributor of the Year Award for 2010, TBP can Expect More not only from the technology we deliver, but from the service they receive too!"

When asked what made DEK stand out from other competitors, Ton added: “One of the main reasons we chose DEK’s Horizon 03iX over other screen printing manufacturers was because of the GUI (Graphical User Interface) function available on DEK platforms. We feel it is important for the software on our screen printers to guide users to maximize productivity while they are programming or carrying out normal operations and DEK’s Instinctiv™ V9 advanced machine user interface does this perfectly. We also have several screen printers and needed them all to be equipped with the same software platform. Our previous printing platforms were all from the same vendor but had different software, so when products were allocated to specified lines they could not be easily transferred. Therefore, having a shared program database was essential and DEK was able to provide us with this. Our experience with DEK printers has been excellent so far and the results we have seen have exceeded our expectations.”
